Answers to Typical Questions:
1. Do you have an office that I can visit?
We are
staying lean and mean in a 21st Century cyberspace office with
training locations to be established in community YMCA's, martial arts programs,
and schools. As programs grow, our goal is to offer users a chat-room
platform for direct interactions between parents, educators, health and fitness
instructors, the medical/therapeutic community… sharing their
experiences/findings from the use of our programs. This format will offer exciting new opportunities for
educational research as well for sharing innovative implementations.
2. Where can I send my child to take one of your programs or view a
session in progress?
We are just
beginning to collaborate with community YMCA's, martial arts programs, and
schools for training locations. Please
call those in your area to inquire about our programs. If we have not yet
arrived in your area, feel free to have them contact us for training information
or call/email us directly. We will be targeting areas with the most
frequent requests first.
3. How do teachers involve parents in these
programs?
All programs are self explanatory (see manuals on 'Merchandise'
page) and formatted to be shared with the child's family. Adults
physically and mentally "act out" the exercise scripts provided along
with their child. This will instill a healthy "sense" of each
lesson. Instructions and daily applications for play, home, and school are
included.
4. What age children are most appropriate for
your programs?
The early exercises of Alphabet Fitness and Kids' Wellness
can apply to young children in a one-to-one relationship as parents see
fit. Structured training is more appropriate for 3˝ and older depending
on the child. Always maintain a playful attitude for healthy muscle memory
development.
5. How does cross-lateral education help my
child learn more rapidly?
Similar to music and the brain theory, the brain
receives more balanced stimulation for whole brain integration when both sides
of the body move while learning.
6. Will my child continue to require physical
activities to read and write effectively?
No, this is only for initial
learning to develop necessary muscle familiarity and whole-brain patterning. Once the brain and body
have formed strong neuromuscular alphabet and simple word links, this technique
becomes similar to learning to ride a bike...using tricycles and training wheels
first to safely get the feel, and then transferring that feel to two-wheelers
and then not even needing to use hands!
7. Why hasn't this been a standard educational
practice all along?
The increase in today's sedentary life styles and the
ability for young children to physically process high speed, electronic images
conflicts with many of the old ways of teaching.
8. Why are your muscle monitoring techniques
so important to learning and creativity?
Chronic tension makes both the
brain and the body less intelligent. Tense muscles do not permit the
optimal flow of chemical-electrical information through the child's body.
This is mentally, physically, and emotionally harmful to the child's memory
retention and well-being.
9. You mention that all children are
gifted with the spirit of imagination and that the playful body-mind WorkOut
scripts help children to give "muscle" to that imaginative
spirit. Would you please explain your usage of the term
"spirit"? We use the term "spirit" to indicate the
child's inner composition that, when free of excess anxiety, is physically
reflected in his/her playful nature, light-heartedness, creativity, compassion,
and a healthy immune system.
10. When, where, and what cost are the training seminars for certification to deliver
one of your programs?
